Soirée to Celebrate Need in Deed’s 30th Anniversary

On Thursday, October 12, Need in Deed will mark our 30th Anniversary, celebrating three decades of guiding Philadelphia students through rich service-learning curricula. The Soirée promises to be a memorable and meaningful evening, and we hope you will join us!

The event will be held at the beautiful Front and Palmer (1750 North Front Street, Philadelphia), and we anticipate a festive celebration, bringing together the entire Need in Deed community — teachers, staff, partners, donors, Board members, and friends. We will pay tribute to the folks whose invaluable work has helped connect the classroom with the community since 1987, and we will have plenty of fun in the process.

Special features of the evening will include:

Ronnie Polaneczky of the Philadelphia Daily News serving as the Master of Ceremonies

Cocktail reception, Program, and Post-program dessert reception

Presentation of the following well deserved awards:

  • 30th Anniversary Honoree Award to Lisa Hantman, 3rd grade teacher at McCall Elementary School, who has completed 11 Need in Deed service-learning projects; and
  • Ambassador for Education Award to Rasheedah Phillips, managing attorney at Community Legal Services, who has served as a Need in Deed community partner for 15 years.

Please join us for this milestone celebration!
